The Charles Bowman Literacy Support Fund has been established to support Read Charlotte’s new A2i technology platform. Anyone can donate to this fund in honor of Charles’ retirement and his transformational leadership in the community for education access and achievement.

As a founding board member of Read Charlotte, Charles served for seven years and helped the initiative establish and bring evidence-based programs and strategies to Mecklenburg County to assist children from birth through third grade. The newest initiative supported by Read Charlotte is A2i, a technology platform that makes it easier for adults to identify and support the reading needs of children from PreK to 3rd grade. A2i is currently being launched in six CMS schools and through nine nonprofit partners providing out-of-school programs.

The license fee for the A2i After School platform is critical to providing high-impact tutoring to help children recover from the impact of the pandemic on their reading. Your donation will cover the license fee so children and families will have access to the program at no cost.
